Dear Oxford Ward,

Updated: Sep 3, 2023

We hope that your first Sunday meeting at home went well and you feel the Spirit in your homes.  We hope this experience will renew our focus on the sacrament.  Partaking the sacrament in individual families or small gatherings is an exciting opportunity to increase our appreciation and understanding of the importance of taking the sacrament each week.  This morning, I felt overwhelming joy in the thought of all the brethren blessing and passing the sacrament in their families.  I could envision children and wives looking up to their fathers and husbands, receiving the sacrament directly from them, and feeling the love these brethren have for them along with the love that the Savior has for them, personally.  Please reach out to those families that don’t have a priesthood holder to administer the sacrament for them.  All those that have been personally authorized to administer the sacrament in your own homes can extend this in ministering assignments. This is a great service we can provide in Christ’s name.  Please go with two persons, two priesthood holders or husband/wife, to administer the sacrament outside your own family.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions, concerns, or needs.  We express our love for each of you and want you to know that we pray for you and your families daily.

During your Sunday service, here are some things you might include:

  • Hymn

  • Opening Prayer

  • Sustainings/releases at the ward and stake level - you will receive these in an email or on oxfordwardfamily.com

  • Sacrament

  • Testimonies, uplifting experiences, Come Follow Me, church videos, conference talks, etc

  • Hymn

  • Closing Prayer

Please do not feel guilty about social distancing during this time, especially with the elderly.  There are many ways of ministering!

We love you,

Oxford Ward Bishopric
