Yield Your Heart to God

As members of the church, we need to turn our hearts to God and do things his way, not our way.

• Sanctification: process of becoming free from sin, pure, clean, and holy through the atonement of Jesus Christ

Helaman 3: 27-30 Process of Sanctification

• Lord is merciful to ALL

• Gate of heaven is open to ALL

• Scriptures are powerful

• Scriptures allows the Holy Ghost to enter our space and guide us

God knows all his children, he knows how to reach us

How are the scriptures quick and powerful?

• They tell us directly what we need to know

• They correct error immediately

Helaman 3: 33-36 Pride

• Pride took over the people of the church

• Pride caused the humble people to suffer

• People felt like they were better than others

Helaman 4: 12, 13 Consequences of Pride

• Those who were prideful did not prosper

• They were afflicted and smitten

• Lost posession of most of their land

• God leaves you to use your own strength

Helaman 5:12 Build a Foundation

"If you build on a rock, you can not fall"

• Remember: the Lord wants us to remember

Build a strong foundation so when Satan tries to knock you down, you may be resistant

• Remember the blessings the Lord has given you

How are Satan's temptations like a storm?

• They are powerful

• You must prepare

• Comes when you least expect it

• He makes it hard to see the path in front of you

• Light conquers all

• Disobedience takes away light and truth

No matter how far you may stray from the gospel, you can always repent

Focus on the Lord cause without him there is not plan
